He was a son of the late James Dillard and Nora Bryant Riddick and the widower of Marjorie Griffin Riddick. A retired farmer, he was a member and first president of the Como Ruritan Club and a former national director of Ruritan National. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, James Dillard Riddick III and his wife, Connie, of Como; two grandchildren, Robert Edwards of Como and Melundy Vandiford of Pendleton, N.C.; a great-grandchild, Bridgette Vandiford. He was predeceased by a son, William Hugh Riddick. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, by the Rev. William M. Jeffries.
