She was a homemaker and a member of Hunterdale Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Roy Roberts; a daughter, Brenda Joyce Watley of Gates County, N.C.; three sons, James Thomas Vaughan and Robert C. Vaughan, both of Suffolk and Melton A. Vaughan of Carrsville; two sisters, Frances Harrell of Tarboro, N.C., and Paige Mosley of Suffolk; stepmother, Trudi Byrd of Windsor; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Thomas Vaughan, and a brother, William Lee Byrd. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hunterdale Baptist Church by the Rev. Howard Vinson. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Wright Funeral Home and suggests that memorials be made to the building fund of Hunterdale Baptist Church, 23099 Sedley Road, Franklin, VA 23851.
