Obituary of James Wesley Rogers JAMES WESLEY ROGERS Virginian Pilot - 08-30-1997 SUFFOLK - James Wesley Rogers of the 500 block of Darden Ave., died Aug. 29, 1997, in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County, Va., and son of the late Richard Emmitt Rogers and Eva Harrell Rogers. He retired as a pare inspector with the Virginia Department of Agriculture. An active member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church, he attended the men's Sunday school class and was a deacon. He was a member of Cypress Ruritan Club and McAlister Masonic Lodge No. 185, Whaleyville, Va. Mr. Rogers was a World War II Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Helen Darden Rogers; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann R. and Clay W. Adams of Raleigh, N.C.; a son, Steven W. Rogers of Suffolk; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Holly Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. John R. Kimball. Friends may join the family at the residence.
