   WINDSOR - Joey Dean Ross, 45, died Saturday, May 4, 2002, after an extended illness. Born in Suffolk, he was a communication technician with Verizon Communications. He was a Baptist. 
   Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Kathryn Crosby Ross; his parents, Guy W. and Shirley Story Ross of Franklin; two daughters, Ashley M. Ross and Jamie L. Ross, both of Windsor; one sister, Deborah Hawks and her husband Bryan of Severn, N.C.; one brother, Michael Ross of Pendleton, N.C.; two nephews, Shawn and Wesley; four nieces, Jessica, Lacey, Kaitlyn and April; and one great-nephew, Gavin. 
   A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Larry Cribb officiating. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the family's home, 11042 Windsor Way, Windsor, or his parents' home, 23104 Story Station Road, Franklin. Memorials may be made to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, 601 Children's Lane, Norfolk, VA 23507.
