Mrs. Rountree was born in Wakefield, She had retired from Gwaltney Inc. after 35 years. She formerly taught with the Smithfield Public School System. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a former member of Order of the Eastern Star. She attended Madison College, now James Madison College. She was the widow of Raymond L. Rountree Sr. Survivors include a daughter, Anne R. Shinn of Charlotte, N.C.; three sons, Ray L. Rountree, Jr. of Suffolk, Willie Rountree II of Carrollton and C. Bailey Rountree of Smithfield; four sisters, Gladys Roach of Waverly and Edith Reynolds and Ethel Spratley both of Richmond and Anne Harvell of Pequot Lakes, Minn.; and five grandchildren. The graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk, by the Rev. Wilfred M. Mayton. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the residence. R.W.
