Obituary of BILLIE LAWRENCE RUNYON Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, July 25, 1992 Billie Lawrence Runyon, 60, of the 9300 block of Windsor Blvd., an electrician, died July 23, 1992, in a Suffolk hospital. Mr. Runyon was born in Belfry, Ky. He was employed with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was also a former ordained Baptist minister. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 57, Suffolk Moose Lodge 141 and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 734. Survivors include his wife, Betty Coggsdale Runyon; five daughters, Patricia A. Good of Johnstown, Ohio, Juanita R. Smullen and Kathy R. Davis, both of Suffolk, Barbara A. Jones of Kill Devil Hills and Marianne Runyon of Nags Head; five sons, Michael Runyon of Anaheim, Calif., Thomas I. Runyon of Hertford, N.C., Martin L. Runyon of Westminster, Md., and James Runyon and John Runyon, both of Nags Head; a stepson, Joseph M. Branch Jr. of Windsor; two sisters, Katherine R. Absher of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Janice G. West of New York City; two brothers, John Runyon of Mayfield, Ky. and Tommy D. Runyon of Detroit; and 15 grandchildren. The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m Sunday in Southampton Memorial Park by the Rev. T.A. Powell.
