Nellie Russell Greene, 75, died Feb. 18, 1999.
A native of Gates County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late William and Essie Casper Russell and the widow of Isaac J. Greene. She was predeceased by her son and daughter, William I. Greene and Martha Louise Casper. Mrs. Greene was a member of the Suffolk Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include her daughters, Rosa G. Hollowell of Carrsville, Betty G. Bean of Franklin, Deborah H. Jolly of Windsor; her sons, Jesse H. Greene, Dennis Ray Greene and Archie Harold Greene, all of Suffolk, Eddie Earl Greene of Carrollton and Randall Greene of Vinton County; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by James Corlew, with burial in Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
