He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Ferguson Slonaker; his children, Troy Kent Slonaker Jr., Betty Slonaker Chalkley and Garland Eugene Slonaker; daughters-in-law, Carol Laws Slonaker, Stacey Hansen Slonaker and Ann Jackson Slonaker; son-in-law, Robert Clyde Chalkley Sr.; two sisters, Evelyn Angevine and Louise Lacks; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; goddaughter, Deborah Stanley and three great-godsons. Mr. Slonaker was preceded in death by his son, Celester Lee Slonaker. Mr. Slonaker was a Navy veteran of World War II, retired employee of Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company and retired employee with the Commonwealth of Virginia. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Asbury United Methodist Church, 7151 W. Belmont Rd. Interment Riverview Cemetery.
