Pauline Gray Smith, 85, died Aug. 21, 1998, in East Pavilion. 
A native of Newsoms, she was the widow of Arthur W. Smith and daughter of the late Minnie Taylor and Charles Edward Gray. She was a very active member and deaconess of Hunterdale United Church of Christ and the Franklin Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by nieces and nephews. 
A graveside service will be held in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, on Monday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Kenneth Williams. The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Hunterdale United Church of Christ.
