Edward F. "Doc" Spivey, 74, of Lakeview Road, died July 18, 1992. 

Mr. Spivey retired from Tidewater Construction Co. He was a member and former deacon of Franklin Baptist Church and a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge 151 and Khedive Temple of the Shrine. He was a charter member of Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies and a Navy veteran of World War II. 

Survivors include his wife, Lizzie Francis Spivey; a daughter, Cathy S. Mendola of Bowling Green, Ky.; a son, Edward H. Spivey of Franklin; a sister, Mary S. Carter of Franklin; a brother, Elton M. Spivey of Norfolk; and four grandchildren. 

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday in Franklin Baptist Church by the Rev. Ira Hudgins. Burial with Masonic rites will be at Southampton Memorial Park. Friends may join the family at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children or to the church building fund. Wright Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Edward F. "Doc" Spivey, 74, of Lakeview Road, died July 18, 1992.
