Mrs. Story, a native of Franklin, was employed at Southampton Memorial Hospital for 25 years. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and was a 1947 graduate of Franklin High School. Survivors include her husband, George L. Story Sr.; two daughters, R. Faye Story of Franklin and Mary S. Griffin of Capron, Va.; three sons, George L. Story Jr., Nelson G. Story and Hunter K. Story, all of Franklin; a sister, Jane G. Corbett of Gatesville, N.C.; three brothers, the Rev. Dr. A.L. Gardner Jr. of Philadelphia, Warren J. Gardner of Blackstone, Va., and Norman L. Gardner of Holland Station, Va.; and five grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Franklin Baptist Church by the Rev. Michael J. Clingenpeel.
