ELSIE M. STORY CUTCHINS

Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - January 12, 1999 

Elsie Story Cutchins, 85, a lifelong resident of Southampton County, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, at East Pavilion, Franklin. 

She was the widow of Landon Barham Cutchins and the daughter of the late Billy Council and Annie Glover Story. Mrs. Cutchins was a member of the Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church and was a retired employee of Southampton Memorial Hospital, environmental services department. 

Mrs. Cutchins is survived by her daughters, Betty C. Cook of Newsoms , Eunice C. Harrell of Collosse, Mildred C. Stieh of Courtland, Frances C. Mumford of Courtland, Evelyn C. Cutchins and husband, Leroy, and Lynda C. Daniels, all of Franklin; sister, Annie Mae Bobbit of Petersburg; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cutchins was predeceased by two sons, Gilbert L. Cutchins and Wallace Thomas Cutchins, two brothers, Council Story and William Story, and a sister, Lila Johnson. 

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Purviance Funeral Home Chapel, Boykins, with the Rev. Wayne Underwood and the Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery , Newsoms . The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of Leroy and Evelyn Cutchins.
