Taylor WINDSOR - Harold Clark Taylor, 75, of Holland Drive, died Feb. 26, 2003, in Obici Hospital. A native of Charlotte County, Va., he was the son of the late George C. Taylor and Carrie Guthrie Taylor. He was also predeceased by a daughter, Laura Gaile Taylor. He retired as an Isle of Wight County sheriff, was a former Virginia state police trooper, and was a graduate of the FBI Academy. He was a member of Windsor Christian Church, the Masonic Purdie Lodge No. 170 and past master of the American Legion Post No. 57. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II and the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Merinda Ramsey Taylor; son and daughter-in-law, Vernon H. and Gail B. Taylor of Suffolk; stepgrandchildren, Susannh and Jessica Broegler; brothers, Shelby Taylor of Charlotte County, Va., and Lacey Taylor of Farmville, Va.; and a sister, Gracie T. Church of New Mexico. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Windsor Cemetery by the Rev. Basil "Buzz" Ballard. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Harrell & Hill Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
