SUFFOLK - Mary Evelyn Taylor Duke, 96, went to be with the Lord Feb. 27,
2005. She was a native of Nansemond County, and was the widow of David
Presley Duke Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Spring
Christian Church and the Women's Fellowship and Ladies Bible Class. She
was the daughter of the late Lydia Maude Austin Taylor and John Henry
Taylor.

Survivors include sons, David Presley Duke Jr. and wife Joanne D. Duke
of Lubbock, Texas, and Robert H. Duke of Suffolk; two granddaughters;
four grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Cypress Chapel
Christian Church Cemetery by the Rev. Tommy Reynolds and the Rev. Allen
Lancaster. Friends may join the family Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parr
Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Robert H. Duck, 4010
Whaleyville Blvd. Suffolk, VA 23434.

Contributions may be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O.
