William Thomas Taylor, 82, of the 100 block of Fairview Drive, died Sept. 11, 1992, in a nursing home. 

Mr. Taylor was born in Norfolk. He was a retired Navy chief petty officer, World War II veteran and civil service retiree. He was a Mason and a Protestant. 

Survivors include two sisters, Olivia T. McClaskey of Cape Coral, Fla., and Elsie T. Atkinson of Franklin; and two brothers, John S. Taylor Jr. of Clearwater, Fla., and Joseph L. Taylor of Wisconsin. 

The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. James W. Browder III. Friends may join the family at Wright Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
