Obituary of Glenmore Thompson GLENMORE THOMPSON Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - January 15, 1999 Glenmore Thompson, 71, a former resident of West Point, died Jan. 14, 1999, at McGuire Veterans Hospital. Mr. Thompson was born June 26, 1927, in Southampton County, a son of the late Wray C. and Viola Raiford Thompson. He was a retired salesman and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a Methodist. Survivors include three nieces, Raiford T. Black of Charles City, Va., Lee T. Figuroa of Florida and Susan T. Vaught of Maryland; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth H. Thompson of Sandston; two aunts, Maud R. Scott of Franklin and Frankie Thompson of Courtland; and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Melvin R. Thompson and Elton R. Thompson. A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Capron Cemetery with the Rev. Lafayette Wilkins officiating. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, is in charge of arrangements.
