Obituary of Betty Houston Traylor BETTY HOUSTON WILLIAMS TRAYLOR The Tidewater News - 08-25-2005 VIRGINIA BEACH - Betty Houston Traylor, 79, formerly of Dinwiddie County, died Aug. 23 at Virginia Beach Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Richmond, she was one of six children of the late Robert Henry and Grace Reid Houston, and was predeceased by her five siblings, including Lillian Houston Smithie and Robert Henry Houston, both of Richmond. Survivors include her husband, Horace J. Traylor; two sons, H. Taylor Williams IV and wife Anne of Franklin and Craig C. Williams and wife Deanna of Long Grove, Iowa; three grandchildren, Meta Anne Williams, H.T. "Bert" Williams V and Reid C. Williams; step-daughter, Betty Lou Blankenship and husband Charlie; stepson, Thomas H. Traylor and wife Bess, all of Richmond; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., Aug. 25, in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Myron Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
