Marie Turner, 78, a retired private duty nurse, died July Aug. 3, 1992, in a nursing home. 

Miss Turner was born in Southampton County. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. 

Survivors include nieces and nephews. 

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins and the Rev. Sharon E. James. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse D. Gardner, 300 Old Sedley Road, Franklin. Memorial donations may be made to the church's building fund.
