NEWPORT NEWS - Lula Duff Tyree, 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, in Huntington Convalescent Center. 
Mrs. Tyree was a native of Rockbridge County and a former resident of Carrsville. She had lived in the area most of her life. 
She retired from Rose's Department Store, Bracey Cleaners and The Suffolk News-Herald. Mrs. Tyree was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day SAints, Franklin. 
Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy T. Bailey of Pine Bluff, Ark., Patricia T. Smith of Wellsville, Utah, and Gail T. Gavin of Franklin; two sons, William F. Tyree of Carlsbad, N.M., and Bobby L. Tyree of Carrsville; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. 
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, by Elder James P. Councill. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin.
