Claude K. Vann Sr., 78, of the 500 block of Laurel St., died May 16, 1993, in his residence. 

Mr. Vann was born in North Carolina. He was retired and was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. 

Survivors include his wife, June P. Vann; a daughter, Dorothy V. Augustine of Franklin; two sons, Thomas M. Vann of Suffolk and Claude K. Vann Jr. of Middleburg, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Gladys R. Brittle of Ivor; three stepsons, Olin G. Romines of Franklin, Ira C. Romines Jr. of Capron and James Parrotte of Newport News; eight grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; three brothers, Linwood Vann of Murfreesboro, N.C., Robert Vann of Franklin and Jesse B. Vann of Dubbin, N.C.; and three sisters, Lillian Hughes of Sedley, Viola Saunders of Hopewell and Edith Riggins of Greenville, S.C. 

A graveside service will be held at 3p.m. Tuesday in Southampton Memorial Park . The family will be at Holland-Rideout Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
