Obituary of JANIE LAINE VAUGHAN Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, June 24, 1996 Janie Laine Vaughan, 86, a longtime resident of Southampton County, died June 23, 1996, at the home of her daughter in Mechanicsville, Va. Mrs. Vaughan was the daughter of the late Rufus and Dora Bryant Laine and was the widow of Emmette Russell "Brick" Vaughan. She was a member of Vincent's Grove United Methodist Church and the Courtland chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Vaughan Close and her husband, George; and two grandchildren, George Ashley Close and Tracey Laine Close, all of Mechanicsville. She was predeceased by a sister, Lucy Laine Barnes of Courtland. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Vincent's Grove United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Willis and the Rev. Woodrow Laine. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. The family will receive friends from 3 to 8:30 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggest that memorials may be made to the Hanover Adult Center, 6000 Stonewall Parkway, Mechanicsville, Va. 23111.
