Born July 27, 1945, in Southampton County, he was the son of the late Charles P. and Betty Hill Vaughan. Willie was a member of Newsoms Baptist Church. He is survived by four brothers, Paul T. Vaughan and his wife, Lavern, of Suffolk, Billy N. Vaughan and his wife, Elaine, of Tucson, Ariz., David G. Vaughan and his wife, Georgia, of Dover, Del., and Samuel W. Vaughan and his wife, Gini, of Goldsboro, N.C.; 10 nieces; and two nephews. A brother, Charles G. Vaughan, and two sisters, Shelia Vaughan Hazelwood, and Ella Sue Vaughan, predeceased him. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hollywood Cemetery , Newsoms , by the Rev. Curtis R. Faison and the Rev. Kenneth Williams. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield. Donations may be made to the church.
