Mr. Wade was born in Southampton County, the son of the late Joshua Wells and Ida Carr Wade. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and had retired as a pipefitter in the maintenance department of Union Camp Corp. after 37 years of service. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and its Bruner Bible Class and the Bronco Rod and Gun Club. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kathleen Edwards Wade; a daughter, Kathy Wade of Virginia Beach; a son, Eddie Wade and his wife, Barbara, of Franklin; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Kaufmann of Jacksonville, Fla.; a special granddaughter, Kim Marks and her husband, Neal, of Courtland; several nieces and nephews. The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Southampton Memorial Park by the Rev. Sharon James. The family will receive friends at the residence and suggests that memorials be made to Franklin Baptist Church.
