Obituary of ELMA BRYANT WALTON

The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - July 21, 1993 

Elma Bryant Walton, 91, a resident of Newsons, died Tuesday, July 20, 1993, at East Pavillion, Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. 

Mrs. Walton, a native of Newsoms, was the daughter of the late Charlie F. and Rosa Story Bryant and the widow of Lewis E. Walton. She was a member of Newsoms United Methodist Church. 

She is survived by three sons, K.D. Walton of Newsoms, Linwood B. Walton of Suffolk and Lloyd A. Walton of Fresno, Calif.; a sister, Sally Bryant of Rocky Mount, N.C.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms, by the Rev. Pat B. Tony and the Rev. Kenneth Williams. The family will be at the home of K.D. Walton, 30112 Statesville Road, Newsoms. Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins Chapel, is handling arrangements. 

Memorial donations may be made to Boykins Volunteer Rescue Squad, Boykins, VA 23827, or to Newsoms Volunteer Fire Department, Newsoms, VA 23874.
