Ella Wade Watson, 83, died March 26, 2003 at her home. Born in Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late George Washington and Mary Ellen Bradshaw Wade and the widow of John Belin Watson Sr. 

Survivors include three sons, John Belin Watson Jr., George Wade Watson Sr. and Franklin Gill Watson and wife, Patsy, all of Franklin; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Joan W. Belote and a sister, Mary Ellen Atkinson. 

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Poplar Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Sharon James officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wright Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Franklin Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 179, Franklin, VA 23851.
