ELLA FRANCES WHITEHEAD

Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, December 27, 2002 

Ella Frances Whitehead, 86, a former resident of the 7800 block of Walters Drive in Norfolk, died Dec. 25, 2002, at the East Pavilion. 

Born in Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel A. and Lizzie W. Whitehead and spent most of her adult life in Norfolk where she was employed at the Naval Supply Center for more than 30 years, retiring some 25 years ago. Miss Whitehead was a graduate of Courtland High School and attended Miss Fannie Webb's Business School in Franklin. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Norfolk and was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. 

Survivors include two nieces, Linda Whitehead Davis of Winter Haven, Fla., and Kathryn McMunn Coley of Jackson, Tenn.; and numerous cousins including Lucy Ann Crowder of Courtland . She was predeceased by a brother, S.A. Whitehead Jr. and a sister, Louise W. McMunn. 

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery , Courtland . Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
