Betty Whitfield Longerbeam, 65, died Oct. 15, 1998. Born Sept. 11, 1933, in Hodge, La., she was the widow of Herman Longerbeam and was predeceased by her father, Thomas Franklin ``Tank'' Whitfield. 

Betty is survived by her mother, Jean Colvin Whitfield of Franklin; two aunts, Louise W. Story of Newsoms, Roslyn Chiesa of Shreveport, La.; and several cousins. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Steve Bradshaw. The family will receive friends at her mother's residence, 29378 Smiths Ferry Road, and requests that memorial donations be made to Tucker Swamp Baptist Church Building Fund, 37527 Seacock Chapel Road, Zuni, Va. 23898. Wright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Betty Whitfield Longerbeam, 65, died 15 Oct 1998. Born 11 Sept 1933 in Hodge, Louisiana, she was the widow of Herman Longerbeam and was predeceased by her father, Thomas Franklin "Tank" Whitfield.  

Betty is survived by her mother, Jean Colvin Whitfield of Franklin; two aunts, Louise W. Story of Newsoms, and Roslyn Chiesa of Shreveport, Louisiana; and several cousins.  

A graveside service was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday [17 Oct 1998] in Poplar Spring Cemetery by Rev. Steve Bradshaw. The family received friends at her mother's residence, 29378 Smiths Ferry Road, and requested that memorial donations be made to Tucker Swamp Baptist Church Building Fund, 37527 Seacock Chapel Road, Zuni, Virginia 23898.
