FRANKLIN - Lucille Whitley Lankford, 88, widow of Hudson Raymond
Lankford Sr., died Oct. 11, 2005. She was a daughter of the late LLoyd
Ashby and Annie Sue Bracey Whitley and was predeceased by a sister,
Edith W. Day; and her step mother, Mary B. Parker. Mrs. Lankford was a
member of High Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Ann L. Pierce and husband Mike of
Richmond; her son, H. Raymond Lankford Jr. and wife Jina of Seattle,
Wash.; eight grandchildren, Nicole Diz and husband Michael, Michael
Pierce and wife Ashley, Todd Lankford and wife Suzanne, Charles Meyer,
Mark Meyer, Kristin Hill, Sarah Hoagland and Amy Moody; six
great-grandchildren, Holden Pierce, Brody Pierce, Marin Lucille Diz,
James Hill, Nicholas Hoagland and Robert Hudson Hoagland; and several
nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Poplar
Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Myron Simmons and the Rev. Edward C.
Johnson officiating. the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Friday at Wright Funeral Home and suggest memorials be made to High
street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 218, Franklin, Va. 23851 or a
favorite charity.
