Obituary of Billy Bryant Williams BILLY B. WILLIAMS Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - November 25, 2001 Billy Bryant Williams, 76, co-owner of B.B. Williams Surveying, died Nov. 24, 2001, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Mr. Williams was a native of Wallace, N.C., and served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War II. He was retired from the Virginia National Guard, serving from Sept. 1947 to Dec. 1965, and had retired from the Virginia Department of Highways with 30 years of service. Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia W. Cotton and her husband, Russ, of Franklin; one brother, Marvin ``Cookie'' Williams and his wife, Georgia, of Folkston, Ga.; two grandchildren, Will and Ashley Cotton; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Williams was predeceased by a sister, Narcissus ``Bootie'' Gwaltney. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Dr. Reginald Warren. The family will receive friends at the residence, 1104 North High St., and suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, c/o Mrs. June Duck, 27351 Delaware Road, Franklin, VA 23851 or to a favorite charity.
