William McKinley Story, 77, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 1996, in Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg. 

He was a native of Southampton County and son of the late Billy and Annie Glover Story. He was a retired truck driver. 

He is survived by his wife, Louise W. Story; two sons, Robert William Story of Portsmouth, Jimmy Arnold Story of Suffolk; two sisters, Elsie Cutchins of Franklin, Annie Mae Bobbick of Petersburg; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. 

A graveside service will be held in Hollywood Cemetery , Newsoms , at 2 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Kenneth Williams. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins.
