A 1963 graduate of Franklin High School and a 1969 graduate of East Carolina University, Andy was an Army Veteran (SGT) and did tours in both Vietnam and Germany. He was predeceased by his parents, Leary Spencer “Smokey” Appleby and Ann Rose Appleby. Left to cherish his memory is one sister, Linda A. Jorgensen (Jon) of Franklin, two nieces, Courtney Stevens and Rebecca Goodspeed , a Goddaughter, Nicole Steele and three cousins, Susan Young, Sandie Smith and R.C Branch, III. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2 PM Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr. officiating. A reception will follow the service at Fred’s Restaurant.
