Born December 13, 1910, she was the daughter of the late John Conley Atkinson and Bettie James Bailey Atkinson, Mrs. Lanier was the oldest member of Burton's Grove Ladies' Aid, joining in 1949 and served as president; and was the oldest member of Wakefield Baptist Church. She was the wife of the late Willie BrinUey Lanier. Lucille is survived by her three sons, Marvin Lee Lanier and wife, Gayle of Wakefield, Elton Brinldey LaNier and wife, Rose of Fredericksburg, and Felix Benton Lanier and wife, Nancy of Williamsburg; grandchildren, Michael Brinkky Lanier, Lee Crumpler, Stephanie Felts, Christina Gregory; great-grandchildren, Cayla Felts, Ashton Felts; and her brother, James Lenard Atkinson and wife, Leah of Ivor. She was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Conley Atkinson and his wife, Martha. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 28 at 2:00 pjn. at PurViance Funeral Home, Wakefield, with the Rev.
