SUNBURY- Henry E. Barnes, 78, died Sunday in Richmond, Va. 

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Philadelphia Methodist Church by Rev. Haywood Harrell and the Rev. Bill Leary. Burial will be in the Damascus Church Cemetery. 

He was a native of Gates County, a retired employe of Norfolk Naval Shipyards in Portsmouth, Va., and a veteran of World War One. 

Surviving are one niece, Mrs. Ward Blarchard; and one nephew, James W. Barnes, both of Sunbury, with whom he made his home.
