ZUNI - Joseph Alex Barrett, 81, died Sunday in Medic-Home Health Center, Newport News.

He was a retired farmer of Isle of Wight County and a member of Antioch Christian Church.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Pearl B. Cobb of Windsor, Mrs. Indiana Cobb of Zuni and Mrs. Emma Tomlin of Ivor; three brothers, M. Thomas Barrett Jr. of Smithfield, Edgar C. Barrett of Hampton and Emmett G. Barrett of Zuni.

A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. today in Antioch Church Cemetery near Windsor by the Rev. L. J. McCall.

Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is in charge.
