Mrs. Lorena Beale Scott, 78, of Emporia, died Monday, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of George Crawford Scott. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Sarah Dunlow, Mrs. Edith Ogburn, both of Emporia and Mrs. Shirley Dillard of WinstonSalem, N.C.; four sons, Claude Fenton Scott, Sr., Linwood Lee Scott and John Thomas Scott, all of Emporia, George C. Scott, Jr. of Boykins; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Cones of Suffolk; twenty grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Thursday 2 P.M. in the Hunterdale United Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. The family will be at the McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins, Wednesday 7:30 to 9 P.M.
