Bland, who has been ill for the past several years, died today [31 Oct 1918] at his home on Spring street in the 47th year of his age. He is survived by one daughter, Miss Mary Bland, and two sons, Ocie Bland, Jr. Burwell Bland; two sisters, Mrs. W. J. Hill, of Como, N. C., and Mrs. R. O. Hill, of Como, N.C., and one brother, W E. Bland. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and of the Order of Odd Fellows, and also of the Baptist church. The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon [1 Nov 1918] at 1 o'clock at the residence on Spring street, and the interment will be in Cedar Hill cemetery, conducted by Rev. G. T.
