Bradshaw, 68, prominent Isle of Wight physician and resident of Carrsville, died yesterday in a local hospital after an illness of two weeks. Besides his widow, Mrs. Thelma Leith Bradshaw, he is survived by two sons, J. J. Bradshaw, and Claud J. Bradshaw of Carrsville; one daughter Mollie Bradshaw, six grandchildren. Mrs. Numey Whitley of Franklin, Misses Claudine Margaret, and Judith Bradshaw; Messers J. J. Bradshaw Jr. and Mason Saunders Bradshaw. One great grandchild, Joan Whitley of Franklin. Dr. Bradshaw was educated at the King Military Academy of Suffolk and in 1891 received his degree in medicine from the Medical College of Virginia. He settled in his native village and built up a large practice. His kindly ministrations to those in all walks of life soon earned him the love and respect of the community. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the grave in Beaver Dam Churchyard with the Rev. J. Sutherland Watt of Norfolk and the Rev. Elisha Bradshaw officiating. Bradshaw, 68, widely known and beloved physician of Isle of Wight County, a resident and family doctor for Carrsville and vicinity for the past 45 years, died Tuesday morning at Lakeview Hospital after an illness of two weeks. Dr. Bradshaw was born near Carrsville March 10, 1868, and was the son of Jacob T. and Mrs. Fannie Saunders Bradshaw. He graduated from the King Military Academy of Suffolk, and later, in 1891, graduated in medicine from the Medical College of Virginia, and settled in his native village. He was married in 1894 to Miss Clara Cutchins of Roanoke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Cutchins. She died in 1928. Of this union there survives one son, J. J. Bradshaw, of Carrsville. In 1932 he was married to Miss Thelma Leith, of the Eastern Shore, who survives him. Of this marriage there survive also two children, Claude J. Bradshaw, Jr, and Mollie Bradshaw. Dr. Bradshaw is survived also by six grandchildren, Mrs. Nurney Whitley of Franklin, Misses Claudine, Margaret and Judith Bradshaw, J. J. Bradshaw, Jr, and Mason Saunders Bradshaw, and one great-grandchild, Joan Whitley, of Franklin. The body was taken from the hospital to the W. J. M. Holland & Son funeral home at Franklin.
