Born in Southampton Co, she was the daughter of the late A. J. (Jake) and Bertha Vick Branch. Having spent most of her adult life in Charlottesville, Va., she was financial secretary at Blue Ridge Sanatorium for over 40 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Richmond, Va. She is survived by four nephews, J.C. Whitmore Jr. and Dallas R Eggleston of Wakefield, Va., WJ. Branch Jr. of New Bern, N.C, J. C. Branch of Chesapeake, Va., and the late Richard D. Branch; two nieces, Martha Branch Andreau of St Augustine, Fla., and Peggy Branch Harrison of Elizabeth City, N.C.; several great and great-great-nieces and nephews, and one great-great-great-nephew. A graveside service and burial will be held on Monday, December 16, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the Rocky Hock United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2745 White Marsh RxL, Wakefield, Va. A memorial service will be held at Lakewood Manor at a later date.
