He was past president of the Warren Point Square Club and a former elder of Warren Point Presbyterian Church, both in Fair Lawn. He attended Chowan College, Murfreesboro, N.C., and North Carolina State University, Raleigh. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Drewry Brett; a daughter, Carol Cappello of Cranford; a son, Arthur C. Jr. of Paramus; two sisters, Doris Odum of Murfreesboro and Ruby LaVoie of Hackensack, and three grandchildren. A memorial service is planned in Virginia.
