David Briel Obituary David William Briel June 11, 1957 - March 13, 2024 Courtland - David W. Briel, 66, passed from this life on March 13, 2024 at his home in Courtland, VA after a lengthy illness. David was born June 11, 1957, in Alexandria, VA to Henry and Elsie Briel. He spent many of his summers as a kid in Montross with his beloved grandparents fishing on the Chesapeake Bay with Grandpa and cooking in the kitchen with his Grandma. He was a member of Alexandria Baseball League playing from Little League through Senior League, and graduated from TCW High (Home of the Titans) and continued his education at NVCC studying Finance. He spent most of his adult years in Warehouse Management. While not yet behind a desk, being a bonded driver allowed him to have the wind in his hair, and his cares behind him. Driving was second nature to Dave and he was like a human GPS as he could get you anywhere with only the map in his mind. His later years were spent in Senior Dispatch. David was an avid Washington Sports Fan - Nationals, Capitals, Redskins. He was a collector of unique Coca-cola memorabilia, with a love of Lighthouses, the OBX, and the Eagles in concert. He loved to grill out and also baked a great meatloaf. David is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elsie. He is also preceded in death by his first wife Leslie. He is survived by their son Bryan, (loving daughter-in-law Erinn), (children Ian and Alanna). Also their daughter Stefanie (husband Mike), (children Jack and Delaney Jo). Dave is also survived by his wife Deborah and her daughters, Meagan (daughter Savannah) and Carley (son Oliver), brothers-in-law Bobby (Nancy) and Mike (Mary). David is survived by one brother, Dan (Jenny), nieces Emily (three great-nephews) and Alison, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Special mention of his brother from another mother, longtime friend, John Murnane, whom he loved dearly. Also missing him will be his four-legged buddies Rocky🐾, Crashe, and his best friend Sadie Girl. ❤️ To all the friends, young and old, who affectionately called him Slim, Dad, Mr. Dave, Pop, Davie Dad, and his most recent favorite, Pop Pop - David will be forever missed and always in our hearts.
