Born in Halifax, NC, he was a son of the late Marvin Roy and Ruth Hufton Bryant and was predeceased by his wife, Louisa Francis Bryant and a brother, Stanley Bryant. Mr. Bryant worked in the hardware business for 26 years and 23 years as a Southampton County Deputy Sheriff. He was a member of Vincent s Grove United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Donald L. Bryant of Courtland and Garland "Mac" Bryant (Patty) of Franklin; one sister, Maxine Davie of Virginia Beach; three brothers, Truman Bryant of Sedley, L. A. Bryant of Norfolk, and Clayton Bryant of Courtland; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, July 23, 2015 in Riverside Cemetery with Rev. Andrew Book officiating.
