Kerry Caddle Obituary Kerry R Caddle, 71, died August 17, 2021 after a slow, progressive condition called normal pressure hydrocephaly (NPH). He is predeceased by his parents, Betty and USMC Sgt John J Caddle. A Marine kid with two older brothers, John and Richard, his parents raised them to love their country and to help others. While not born in Virginia, he lived and loved Norfolk for over 40 years, only begrudgingly venturing outside of his treasured West Ghent neighborhood. With his first wife, Judy Caddle (d. 1993), he had three girls, Amy Birdsong (McLemore), Suzanne Guinn, and Mary Beth Sunderman (Erinn). Kerry received his master plumber's certificate in 1981 and started his own business named A & S Plumbing. With the surprise arrival of Mary Beth, A & S became Ghent Plumbing. He was always there for clients, taking and making emergency calls at all hours of the night, including holidays. He truly enjoyed helping people and took pride in his work. After his first wife died, the family was blessed when he met and married Dianne Schneider. Although they divorced years later, she continues to be a fixture in the girls' lives. Besides being a remarkable person, Dianne brought three wonderful children into the family, Quinton Schneider (Rachael), Amanda Massie (Tim), and John Schneider (Alix). Quinton and John worked with Kerry for years, and kept his business going when he first started showing signs of the condition we now know was NPH. When his disorder finally forced him to retire, Quinton started Heritage Plumbing of Ghent, carrying on where Kerry left off. Three years ago, due to his NPH, his daughter Amy moved him to Suffolk to be closer to her. He rarely went a week without letting her know he wanted to move back to Norfolk! Despite that, he met many kind people where he lived at Centerbrooke Commons and he enjoyed hearing about his 10 grandchildren. Special thanks to his older brother John, who always took time to visit from North Carolina and help out.
