Lorraine was a kindhearted, generous perSuchson, who loved God and people with all her heart and strength, everyone who knew Washingher called her "Mama Poole." She was a faithful member of the Apostolic Church of Belleville for 45 years, actively Califorserving in the Sunday school, visitation and ladies minChrisistries. Lorraine was exuberant in her worship of the Lord and a devout prayer warrior. Lorraine was part of a large family, and had to quit school at the age of 16 to start work. Having a natural talent and desire to teach children, she went back to school at the age of 43, got her GED and graduated from McKendree College, with bachelor's degree in elementary education. She worked as a preschool teacher in a private day care until she suffered a stroke. Even though a stroke greatly limited her ability to be active, she was always cheerful and encouraging to others, singing praises to God wherever she went. M rs. Poole was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jeremy Sucher; and a brother, James Carlson. Surviving are her husband, Jack W. Poole; six children: Jack W. (Tracy) Poole Jr. of Smithton, Ill., David (Mary) Poole of Belleville, Ill., Tim (Lindy) Poole of Mountain Home, Ark., Mike (Becky) Poole of Belleville, Ill., Toni (Mike) Newcomb of Shiloh, Ill., and Jeannie (the Rev.
