One of the oldest members of Mt. Carmel Christian Church, he was the husband of the late Sallie Raiford Carr and the son of the late James A. and Rebecca Luter Carr of Isle of Wight County. He is survived by one daughter, Miss Anna O. Carr of Walters; eight sons, Floyd A. Carr of Suffolk, Rochelle Carr of Atlanta, Ga., Lollie K. Carr of Bowers Hill, Wilson R. Carr of Walters, and J. J. Carr, Joseph S. Carr, Leanus D. Carr and Wesley W. Carr, all of Norfolk; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and one brother, Will E. Carr of Norfolk. Funeral services will be held from Mt. Carmel Christian Church on Friday afternoon [10 July 1953] at 4:30 o‚Äôclock, with Rev. Ellis Clarke, pastor of the church, officiating.
