Portsmouth - John Charlton, Sr., 84, went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2018. He was the son of the late George and Mary Alice Charlton. He was also predeceased by his brother, George Charlton. 

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 66 years, June Robinson Charlton; his children Jay (Paula), Barry (Cammie), Bruce (Mari-An), Beth Capps (Troy), and Julie Lafontaine (Jason); his sister, Mary Anne Williams; along with 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m., Tuesday, March 27, at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, 5685 Lee Farm Ln., Suffolk. A Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, March 28, at The Church of St. Therese, 4137 Portsmouth Blvd., Chesapeake. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery, 2 Cpl. J. M. Williams Ave., Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneralHome.com.
