She was born in Franklin and had been a resident of the Peninsula for most of her life. She was a member of Poquoson Baptist Church. She was formerly employed at the National Aeronautics Space Administration and served as organist at many Peninsula churches. Survivors include her husband, C. Donald Babb; four sons, Donald W. Babb of Hampton, Brian E. Babb of the home, Alan B. Babb of Newport News, and Glenn H. Babb of Dyersburg, Tenn., her mother, Mrs. Adelaide R. Corbitt of Newport News; a sister, Mrs. Carol C. Thompson of Laurinburg, N.C.; two brothers, R. Fleming Corbitt of Hampton, and R. David Corbitt of Smithfield; and two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
