Wilbur Drewry Obituary Anna Laura Cobb Drewry April 11, 1915 - July 27, 2008 Anna Laura Cobb Drewry, 93, widow of William Henry Drewry Jr., passed away July 27, 2008 in Summit Place of Beaufort, S.C. Born in Southampton County, she was one of eleven children of the late Charles and Annie Cobb. Her ten siblings all preceded her in death. A graduate of Longwood College, Anna taught elementary school for 23 years. Anna lived in Franklin until 3 years ago when she moved to Beaufort, S.C. She was a faithful member of High Street Methodist Church. Left to cherish wonderful memories are three daughters, Joanne D. Duke and her husband, Presley, of Lubbock, Texas, Faye D. Gibbs and her husband, Jack, of Clarkesville, Georgia, and Kaye D. Ertter and her husband, Tom, of Beaufort, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Jack W. Holland III, David Presley Duke III, William Drewry Duke; Forrest Robert Duke, Marianna Kaye Holloman and John Shadrick Ertter; six great grandsons, three great granddaughters, and a host of nieces and nephews, including Charles Carriker and his wife, Paula of Winston Salem, and Tal and Jim Drewry of Franklin, who have been very close to Anna. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 31st at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Vinson officiating. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
