Gladys Lee Duck 17 MAR 1930 - 27 SEP 2022 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gladys Duck Cutchins Pope (March 17, 1930 - September 27, 2022 ) Carrsville - Gladys Duck Cutchins Pope, 92, passed away on September 27, 2022 in Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Beniamin Harrison Duck and Hattie Odell Carr Duck. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Raymond Edward Cutchins, Sr.; her second husband, Eldridge Thomas Pope, Sr.; a son, Raymond Edward Cutchins, Jr.; a sister, Mary Virginia Cutchins; a brother, Benjamin Carr Duck; and a step-daughter, Jeane Brown. Gladys was retired from Lipton Tea Company and a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. She loved the outdoors and worked in her yard up until she was 91 years old. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter-in-law and caretaker, Margaret Cutchins-Darden; a step-daughter, Velna Griffin (Sydney); a step-son, E. T. Pope, Jr. (Ginger); nine grandchildren: Christine Byrum and husband Jeffrey(and their children Heather, Ray and Abby), Jenny Cutchins, Robbie, Lewis, Wanda, Sharon, Brian, Greg and Christian; 14 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM Friday, September 30, 2022 in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Vinson and Rev. Warren Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Beaver Dam Baptist Church Building Fund.
