She was born in Suffolk and grew up in Newsoms. Marian was predeceased by her parents, Johnnie Perry Lane Cook and Elizabeth Taylor Cook. Marian was a graduate of Southampton High School and Smithdeal- Massey Business School. She retired from Nations Bank as a Loan Collateral Specialist. Going to Amish Country to shop and attend plays, supporting the Food Bank in Franklin, traveling, reading and baking were her favorite recreational activities. She was an active member of Central Hill Baptist Church and celebrating Christmas was one of her greatest joys. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 57 years, Kenneth Wilson Gray, two sons, Kevin Lane Gray (Kristi), Craig Bradley Gray (Michele), three sisters, Carolyn Shannonhouse (David), Vickie O‚ÄôBerry (Jimmy) and Debbie Ashburn (Bobby) and five grandchildren, Hunter, David, Mitchell, Hugh and Jacob. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday June 30, 2023 in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms.
