Edith Grizzard Obituary Edith Bryant Grizzard December 25, 1924 - April 26, 2014 Edith Bryant Grizzard Boykins, Virginia- Edith Bryant Grizzard, 89 years old, passed away on April 26, 2014. She was the widow of the late Victor Beaton Grizzard and the daughter of the late Robert Arthur Bryant and Maggie Vick Bryant of Branchville, Virginia. Edith was also predeceased by her sister Iris Bryant Curling. She was born on December 25, 1924 and was truly a gift to all. Edith was a graduate of Longwood College and taught Home Economics at Craddock High School for several years. She was a member of Boykins Baptist Church and loved dearly by her "Ruth Class". Edith is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Grizzard Turner and husband Harrell of Branchville, Betty Grizzard Mann and husband Michael of Boykins, six grandchildren: Mark Brandon Turner and wife Kelly, Ryan Dean Turner and wife Heather, Josh Tyler Turner and wife Catherine, Maggie Mann Puckette and husband Rob, Molly Katelyn Mann, and Michael Cole Mann; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Riley. Edith modeled daily a life enriched with grace and humility that personified a loving mother with noble character. Her family will be forever grateful for the example she lived for us. A graveside funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., April 29, 2014 at Beechwood Cemetery with the Reverend Raymond Bunn officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for visitation on April 28, 2014 at Boykins Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Memorials can be made to Boykins Baptist Church in lieu of flowers. Her family will always remember the kindness shown by the staff at Southampton Memorial Hospital throughout her illness.
